Title: Buggy Track for PMGC Date: 2007-02-27 GMT: 13:29:18
To: Members pf PMGC
First of all ask yourselves a question- Do you all really need the usage of the buggy as part of the play? Personally, I would love PMGC maintained its uniqueness as a premiere walking course and at the same time for business purposes allowing the buggy on heavy traffic playing days. I visited the course lately; I'm really disappointed at the conditions, but mind you- Is this the last "gift" from the last course maintenance personel?? What a bummer! Anyhow that is not I'm commenting it about, but what PMGC needs is a good 4 day a week grass fairway cutting and the range? That's different story! Let suggest to you if PMGC wants to have the buggy business:

1. Green fee for walking must be lower.

2. Mandatory usage only if there is so many golfers that are playing on that day; may suggest Saturday and Sunday.

3. At the driving. Is someone is having some leasurely "good time" in there? You need grass tees or grass practice area.

Last but not least, I hope the new committee will not make the mistake like the last one that only cares about "self profit". My advise is "Members first". . .

I agree 100%.

What is the point of a buggy track when you dont have an acceptable fairway?

I saw the advertisement in the Borneo Bulletin for a contractor to undertake the works for a buggy track at PMGC. Maybe someone in this forum could shed some light on the followings: - How is this going to help PMGC playable, which I see is our main priority, not forgeting the terrible state of the green now ? - Since we have this new concept of a "people centred" golf club, is there a general concensus amongst the members to proceed with the Buggy track under the new committee ? - Is there a plan for PMGC to be BOTH a walking and buggy track course ? - The newspaper article recently quoted an expenditure of B$500,000 and a possible return to be generated totalling income in the range of $500,000 to $1million. Who is paying for all this ? And who is going to generate all this ? - How is this going to help towards this vision of Asian Tour venue ? - Are we so confident that the ground condition at PMGC will permit buggy on the fairway even after the promised improvement ? My personal view is that I doubt if the buggy track will benefit PMGC but I am more than willing to be convinced otherwise. In addition, I sincerely hope the new committee will not rob us of a walking golf course and force upon the members additional burden of having to pay for the buggy.

PMGC is unique as a walking course in town. Let us keep it that way.
