ok, thanks for the tip. It will take a lot of patience and willpower to fight that instinct to just rip the rod up when the strike comes.

I don't normally agree with Mr.Lures (haha) but in this case I agree. You need to wait 1-2 seconds before striking the rod.
Good luck.

When they whack u need to wait 1-2 sec till u feel the line tighten then strike, go cffs ask the staff to play " Legend 1,2 and 5" Kozo dvd , most of us learn the technic from this dvd. They do have other copy of japan lure technic dvd like Jackall Bro, Fish File Action so n so which u cannot find in the market. Those dvd not for sale but may watch there.

Eh..........not sure they still available or not cos most dvd i burn 4them can't servived for 3 months....haha, mostly kena alibaba oledi.

By the way, I have a question on Spro frogs. How do you work them? I normally just cast them out and reel them back in at a slow speed. Sometimes, I do the tugging thing to make the frog hop and then stop to trigger a strike. I have gotten multiple strikes on just reeling them in and the hop and stop technique.

The problem is that I can't seem to get a solid hook up on most of these scenarios. Am i doing something wrong when trying to set the hook?

Sounds like targetting mama crocs....haha

J,
According to Labi native high tide best for tapah, they will swim to smaller stream that's the time they target them, low tide they wong-fei-hong-sow-tong(back home), hard to track them.

Most people troll for it, u may try kalok, when in Labi i saw the native used kalok as bait for tapah. Try Gardenia bread as well, u may caught lawang (look like patin), below 1kg yummy above that loko. If u ever watch my Bengkok trip dvd may try the Thai bomb as well, it work for most fresh water fish (sucking in while feeding) . I got one set of those powder, just add santan and banana scent will do. It work for mekong cat tapah eh...................try lah if no better choice....haha

Anyone caught tapah before? A friend of mine is bringing me to KB to hunt for some tapah. If anyone knows what bait is usually preferred(besides udang galah) or what method I should be using, please share. My friend told me that people usually do casting but I would like to know if there are any other methods.
