It works with odd and even line of pixel 1,3,5,7 from up left corner till right bottom corner then 2, 4, 6, 8., both fields combined to form a frame aka picture eg. every 50 fields per second, so odd and even both share 25 fields per second, it mostly apply to CRT at the olden days , high-definition progressive video do not support interlacing. A field is an image that contains only half of the lines needed to make a complete picture so needed 2 field to form a frame, analog television using this technique because it allowed for less transmission bandwidth . Interlace in PAL... 50 fields per second, 625 lines, odd lines drawn first Interlace in NTSC.... 59.94 fields per second, 525 lines, even lines drawn first Tha advantage of interlaced video reduces the signal bandwidth by a factor of two. As for progerssive it was the opposite of interlace, it works line by line 1,2,3,4,5,6, from top to bottom by "frame" (see carefully not fields) and it has higher vertical resolution than interlaced video with the same frame rate. IF u do OWN a digital camera gotta see 1080i (60fps) interlace or 30 in frame. Btw talk so many u understand 5% kah cos i doubt your english standard can catch up.
