Title: Trench GT Date: 2009-03-29 GMT: 03:31:41 To: Lures have popping rod by the lure is too small to attract the biggie. my popping set-up is quite light, 40g popper. If i but medium/heavy popping set, i rarely use them as i have no spot to utilize them. BTW, yesterday nearby boat managed to land approx. 20kg sailfish on anjun at the trench.

Title: Trench GT Date: 2009-03-27 GMT: 13:25:56 To: Capt Fred That was the 3rd GT caught there so far. Previously caught were weighting 6 kg both. A week before at the same spot my 2.5kg snapper was nearly taxed by unknown fish. The reel 6kg drag was easily reeled out. It was not shark, barracuda or tenggiri either as it was not cut in bits. The muara trench can be an exciting spot for fishing but the action there is unpredictable. Lately my last 4 outings, saw sailfish surfacing and last thursday it was about 10m from the boat!

Title: Trench GT Date: 2009-03-25 GMT: 01:24:28 To: Languran That is indeed a first. I have never heard anyone catch a GT that size at the trench. In fact hardly any GT ever got caught there. It is usually Hairtail, Snappers, Tengirris and even YFT. Congrats!

Title: Trench GT Date: 2009-03-21 GMT: 07:15:18 To: All Went out recently to check wether the snappers are bitting. We did not catch any snapper that day and but few small hairtails caught on jig. Our new personal GT record, caught by Kamal, was set that day on Lumo squid anjun. weight approximately 14 kg on rapala scale.
