Lures, I didnt say he use wrong fishing skill lehhh.. dont flame me, hehe! Its true what he said, trying to keep the boat on above the reef and jiggin at the same time is not easy as the current is very strong.

Capt Fred, Doesnt matter you lose jigs or not. You still not qualified to have a karate belt. I nearly did that day. Hahahaha!

You got wrong info. Did not even sangkut at all. I lost one Salty Rubber jig to the boat props when backing up.

Fren, very difficult to jig and at the same time drive. Next time if you happen to join us (not aeroplane king) I think you better drive and I fish. Hehe

Ah Chong with his trevally caught on Yozuri lure.

We all agreed that we would have caught more fish if the Karate King AKA Aeroplane King did not baca baca the fish.

Yea, nice size grouper. The octopus jig proof itself. Anyway, the bilis was almost only 1/5 of my lure size. It would be a hungry bilis tryin to eat that big lure. Hahahaha. Overall it was fun and very new experience. The next time could be more fun if we could approach closer to the mangrove trees. That's where most of the fishes would be hiding. Anyway, thanks for inviting. Cant wait for another trip like this.

Being fishing offshore for many years, it is a refreshing change to enjoy fishing along inshore waters. We started from Serasa on my Boston Whaler, just me and Akudou. Our friend, Lures, as usual is the Aeroplane King(did not show up). There were some leftover fuel which is enough just to reach the petrol station at Sg.Bunga so that was our first stop.
We were to pick up Ah Chong at the nearby Sg.Bunga jetty but we still had lots of time to burn. So we went and did some casting at Pulau Chermin. Nothing. We then went off exploring the other islands nearby. Being unfamiliar with that area, we nearly got stuck many times in shallow water.
The worse problem was that the water in most river area was too dirty with silt like Teh-see. You can't even see your lure more than 2 inches away.

We continued exploring the area to find suitable casting site. We went towards Kg.Menungol but Ah Chong called and said he has arrived. So we headed back to the jetty to pick him up.
We cast at the tower at Sg.Bunga resettlement houses. Nothing. We cast near the fishfarms. Nothing.

Then we went towards Mentiri and cast at the rocks off the island. Ah Chong was rewarded by a nice trevally about 1Kg size. Akudou got a fish too on his cast. But it was a bilis. Was the Bilis trying to eat his lure which is as big as itself?
We decided to try some casting along the Pelompong breakwater. The sea at that channel was very rough. Many boats were anchored to fish in the channel rather than go out to the rough sea.
We drift along the channel many times and cast towards the breakwater. Nothing.
Finally, I changed my lures to a Salty Rubber jig and did some bottom jigging in shallow water and was rewarded by a nice grouper.

When there is less rain (water less murky), we would certainly try this again and explore more areas.
What about the mangrove off Selirong and places like that? Anyone who are experienced in this area, please share info with us.
