| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-23 GMT: 03:02:01 To: Akudou Definitely, the things lost worth much more than my items. Maybe, now we should instill a GPS alarm and locator inside out custom rods or inside our engines. Then maybe it will deter thieves. Hehe but as capt Fred said, shark bait form them who steals. Grr.... hehe Im being too light about my stolen items as I am covering up my sadness on the Scimitar. I caught a 3 kilo MJ and a 13 Kg Barra in Serasa with that thing and it did not break. On a 20lbs Fireline braid and 25lbs leader at that. Hmmm.. memories. Well anyway, whats up off the shores? any good catch lately, tunggu already naik bebatik now... |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-23 GMT: 01:33:43 To: Capt Fred What you have lost to thiefs are definitely bigger compared to the rod and reel. I myself have lost a few items on by boats and its sad how some people can do such a thing eventho they need some parts which are not on the items taken such as gps radar complete with cable and fishfinder tranducer. Too bad theres no alarms like cars. hehehe... |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-23 GMT: 00:21:02 To: Junaidi People who steal especially from fishing kakis should be used as shark bait. I have lost quite a few things to thieves too. A few boats and engines at Serasa and a rod/reels. |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-22 GMT: 09:53:53 To: Akudou I have no idea as I rarely let people know I own those items. well i just guess they picked the shiny stuff and left the dusty stuff behind. My tomman and white rabbit was unused and looked really dirty as i dont use it anymore. On the bright side, this allows me to shop somewhat for cheaper items. Captain, I ll see your shop soon. Hehe |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-22 GMT: 06:37:19 To: Junaidi Thats very unfortunate of you to lose such priceless item but none the less the thief knows what to get and what to leave behind. Have any idea who the thief might be? Thats why customise rods are always best built with your own initial or decal as to recognise your own gears. As for myself i always leave an initial where its always never seen by the open eye. |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-22 GMT: 04:33:31 To: Capt Fred Yikes, beyond my timezone as I have a lot of work.. hmm, fishing time is getting rare now. I miss going to sea.. hehe.. (hint hint). I have to look for fishing supplies now captain, my things got stolen last week from my tool shed at home. I lost and expert custom Pe2-3 6ft rod, a saltiga Z 4500, a whole lot of other items including my Shimano scimitar casting rod i bought from your shop 3 years back, which i absolutely adore, and my tool boxes. Gila la that thief, he specifically went for the good stuff and left my white rabbit rod and tomman reel alone. I wish he chokes on the fishes he catch with my items. Hehe |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-20 GMT: 00:20:28 To: Junaidi Apollo is out on a charter to the dropoff this weekend. Coming back only tonight (Monday). I did not go out fishing this weekend. Did some wiring work on the Boston Whaler. A lot of the wire on the boat is corroded and need to be replaced. Last week, the power for the fishfinder and GPS keeps going off. We had to directly connect the bilge pump to the battery to turn it on. That is the life of boating...haha..to much maintenance. |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-04-02 GMT: 04:54:03 To: Junaidi Bahrum It depends on what type of fish you are targeting with your fly rod. You are right,8 weight is not light duty but it would be good for targeting the Bulan-bulans in our river or for Tongkol in the sea. It is great that you are starting a fishing column on your paper. I would surely support it. You should drop by the shop when we are there usually during the evening around 5-630pm. |

I think he is afraid that we would give him a new nick. He already has too many. His new nick could be Desktop Fisherman. So please bring him there before the name sticks. Haha. |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-03-25 GMT: 05:51:30 To: Capt Fred 2 weeks in a row, been going casting at a new spot which is very potential. In 2 weeks alone, average dalak caught was 2 per day weighing from 300gms to the largest so far 1.3kg. All below 500gms was release back into the pond. Went to wasan for the past 2 weekends too since you are not around to bring me trench fishing.heheheh. First saturday in we caught 5, sunday 2. 2nd weekend, 2 on saturday and 5 on sunday. I had to be the skipper to replace chong since he went offshore. Brought a few newbies to learn the basics of casting spro's and scums and Chegu Azmey to wasan. Overall it was fun hooking up the fishes everyday. Total released in your office pond now is 7 dalak ranging from 500gms to 1.3kg. Have a few new spot to try out and after that my freshwater season would be over until the offshore season turns bad again. Cheers. |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-02-28 GMT: 17:44:26 To: Capt Fred / Lures brought 3 newbies to wasan just now at 3pm as chong the guide. 2 stayed on the island using bait while 1 newbie, chong and me use the boat to cast around. 1st cast and i landed a dalak at nearly 1 kilo. Newbie had only one strike but missed strike. In 2 hrs time i had 4 dalaks in total and lost 1 more then 1kg slipped off my hand and in the water. Chong manage to land 4 dalaks as well and release a small size one. We were please with the results as the dalak population is rising up once again. In 3 hrs more than 8 dalaks was caught by Chong and me. not mention too many missed strikes, could be the disadvantage of the spro's hairy legs. Chong was on the black regular size while im using the black junior. The newbie was also using spro junior in black and red colour. |

Update me later regarding our plan. Im heading to wasan this afternoon again. |

The other one almost 1kg, he released it at the office pond. So he is keeping his word. When are you going to release some dalak at the pond too? Oh...I just realised that you have to catch them first before you can release them but how? You are the karate king. Hehe. |

Hope to get the one that got away next time, It threw the hook and was surprised to see the the fish jump at that size. Have to search for new spot again and new kind of fish. Interesting to see which of the many kind of lures and poppers plus techniques to get the fish interested in the lure/ |

| Title: Latest inshore and freshwater fishing update Date: 2009-01-12 GMT: 00:46:51 To: On Friday, we went to a lake in the Jalan Tutong area to cast for about an hour. No bites and did not see many fish surfacing. The place was not very accessible so we will return one day with a boat. Saturday, I tried the pond next to the tennis club. No bites when casting with frogs. Water is clear. There are lots of Karok. So if you are a Karok fan, this pond is great for you. But dalak, very few. Akudou went to the Kota Batu area to cast after Pengkalan Batu (Secret spot he said. Here he and Ah Chong landed aorund 20 Tarpons (Bulan-Bulan). Ah Chong hooked onto one big Selunsong but it got away. Akudou, please fill in the details. |
