Not sure where you are talking about. I was referring to going to cast in the mangrove areas. There is no need to go into any channels.

We have 2 choices. We can use my Boston Whaler from Serasa. Alternatively we could tow the Bermuda to Kota Batu boat launch at Pantai Mentiri.

You interested to go to the secret spot where i walk 1hr to reach there? Thats if you are willing to use your whaler. If the channel is safe to access in, theres 2 kind of fising. Land n tie the whaler upon reaching in the channel n walk to the mangrove swamp filled with small mj,bulanbulan n ikan puteh to cast for. If its accesible, the walk is 5 to 10min. The other casting option is enter the channel n cast from the whaler for big barramundi, barracudas and if lucky enough decent size trevallies. If interested, we meet up soon.

Waves are as high as 2.5 - 3.5 meters so its not safe to head to the rocks of muara to do popping from there. If the waves are low, do you have a 4wd? maybe we can head there without walking for half an hour. Anyway you gonna be busy since u gonna be a married man soon.hehhehe. So you think you have enough time to fish before your big day? Maybe we can go light popping or freshwater casting..

Talked to Chong last few days, and he told me that him, alan and scott went to muara breakwater rock to do some light popping. They hooked up 3 barracuda's each ranging from 3 to 4 kg.

Captain, When you wanna bring me on your boston to do some light casting or popping? hehehehe

yes it would be easier by boat hence if the current isnt strong. From the look of it, it looks dangerous as chong have encounter with a crocodile of more than 2 meters in length(basking onshore) while looking for us. There are 2 sides to fish from, the outer side which breaks to the open sea and the innerside which breaks into black water filled with bakau n mangrove trees. The outer side is much closer frm our parking area which takes 15min to arrive while to get to the mangrove area, you would have to walk 30min to 45min but then again that is the place where we strike the mj's and ikan puteh. Will fill you with location detail once im free to have coffee with you

Went with Chong and Alan to one of Chong's secret casting ground. Started off at 11am and ended at 6pm. Chong couldnt be there the whole day as he has family commitment so Alan and me was left to survey the area. It was a very long walk into the area especially the target area which took us almost an hour to walk from the landing area to the target zone. Our search was for barramundi, so equipped with a backpack of lures, 1 reel and rod, a bottle of water and ofcourse boots! Chong even told us that apart from barramundi, mangrove jack, bulan-bulan could also be found.

I passed by the place alot of times but didnt think that there would be fishes found if you walk all the way in. 2 hours of casting and Chong had to leave us and told us he would be back.We walk along the route filled with a mixture of both fresh and sea water. My legs didnt kill me at first but the heat was getting on my nerves. Plus, to cast we had to walk through bushes or ankle deep of mud.

Throughout the day we had 2 ikan putih,2 mangrove jacks, 1 bulan-bulan. It was quite an interesting day as i realise i havent had quite an exercise myself for some time.
